Do not enter, no entry, or authorised personnel only?

Do not enter and no entry carry the same meaning; the wording differs by region. Do not enter is the common phrasing in the United States, while no entry is more usual in the UK and Europe, where the ISO 7010 red circle-and-bar symbol is standard. Authorised personnel only is different in substance: it permits entry for trained or approved staff. Use do not enter where nobody should pass, and keep the two apart, because mixing them weakens both.

Where these signs are typically used

Frequently asked questions

Do these signs need a symbol as well as text?

A symbol is strongly advisable. It communicates instantly, works across languages, and stays readable at distance and in poor light. Text-only signs are easy to miss and exclude anyone who does not read the language, which matters on multilingual sites and public premises.

Can I customise the wording?

Yes. Set your own text, symbol, size and material in the designer, with a live preview and instant pricing before you order.

Are photoluminescent versions available?

Yes. Photoluminescent signs stay visible during power failure and are worth specifying on escape routes and in areas without emergency lighting.

What size should I use?

200x300mm is enough for doors and interior use. For vehicle routes and yards, use 300x450mm or larger so the sign is readable before someone commits to the approach.
